Where do YOU stand, or sit?

A friend mentioned that:

It's getting harder to be Good and Cool in our day.

I'd like to add that there is less room today to sit on the "fence" so-to-speak than in the past. As good gets better and evil spreads, more rampant, more common-place... I think that we are making more choices each day about whose side of the fence we sit on, than did a generation before. We will choose to subscribe to following Christ, or Satan or the choice is made for us.

I propose that this applies to Protecting Traditional Marriage.
Although, I would never seek to take away from another what is good and happy to them, I must preserve what I see as an opportunity to protect my Religious Freedoms of today & tomorrow. The first being, God's definition of the sacred union of marriage. Also, realizing that we have, this blessed & free country of America today, due to a rich, God-seeking, God-respecting history & heritage. Although, not often taught in schools & community, I believe, is a miracle of many wrought at God's hand.

While many consider Religion, a matter of mere politics, I presume religion to be one of God's forums. I choose to allow god this forum on his earth. Freedom of religion, more than any public diversity ensures, just that, Freedom. America has come a long way, let us not accept, set-back in this arena.

By doing a small bit of research into states which have adopted Homosexual & Lesbian couples into the legal definition of marriage, you see rights taken from privately owned religious adoptive agencies and parents of elementary age school children in their ability to opt-out of this school-taught/ adult-issue of homosexuality.

I ask: What is it you see for the future of your family? How will you allow state to shape the life of your small children? And while each of us has our God-given right to free-will and our state given right to worship as we please, what freedoms will we allow our lack of foresight to steal? Today, America's Constitution allows people of faith, the right to practice religion, a freedom sought, fought for & valued by those founding our Constitution. Yet, there are some who argue, it no longer applies!?

We all see & define things differently, I notice that it is often the friends & family of those directly affected by proposed change in our Bills & Amendments which have the thickest threads of emotion & hottest temperament over these topics, like lions protecting their cubs. At very least, let us make an informed decisions over our influence. God Speed.

God wants Freedom for his People

So, I wrote a about a Fast & Testimony meeting in June '08 which i can't find but will share from memory... The Stake President, President Mantilla was visiting our ward and had attended what I think was some sort of presidential campaigning other fund-raiser at the State Capitol, which I am thinking was where it was. A dinner party, President George W. Bush spoke.

President Mantilla mentioned a few of President Bush's words:

#1-that "he knows the people people pray for him" and
#2- that he knows that God wants freedom for his people

When asked how he knew this, President Bush answered:
"I am 62 years old, and in my 62 years, there are some things I just know."

Do you ever FEEL like this?

Protect Freedom: Prop 8

*Unless Proposition 8 passes, California society will soon undergo a profound change in its basic understanding of marriage and family life.
That will affect everyone in numerous ways. Over time, greater acceptance of nontraditional marriage will be demanded of all people. This could impact the ability of any religion to teach and practice its beliefs.

*Proposition 8 will not hurt gays and lesbians.
In California, the law provides for marriage-related benefits to be given to civil unions and domestic partnerships. Proposition 8 does not diminish these benefits.

*Failure to pass Proposition 8 will hurt children.
If same-sex marriage remains legal, public schools will put it on equal footing with traditional marriage. Children will likely receive “age appropriate” information about sexual relations within heterosexual and homosexual marriages. Failure to pass

*Proposition 8 will hurt churches.
The court’s decision will inevitably lead to conflicts with religious liberty and free speech rights. Society will become more and more hostile to traditional beliefs about marriage and family.
